Why does the AirDoctor work so well?

It all starts with our superior, professional-grade UltraHEPA^® filter…

As you may know, many higher-end air purifiers come with a HEPA air filter (HEPA stands for “high efficiency particulate air”). It works by forcing air through a fine mesh that traps harmful particles such as pollen, pet dander, dust mites, bacteria, and tobacco smoke.

The HEPA filter is such an advanced technology, it was originally developed by nuclear scientists. In order to be called a HEPA filter, as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy, it must remove 99.97% of any airborne particles at 0.3 microns.

This means they’re able to eliminate pet dander (3 microns in size)…dust and dust mite particles (5 microns in size)…and pollen (20 microns in size).

That sounds pretty good—until you realize that some of the most dangerous particles that pollute or invade the air you breathe are often much smaller than the 0.3 microns HEPA standard!

For example, some of the most lethal particles found in wildfire and cigarette smoke, can be as small as 0.1 microns.

Those emitted by a wood-burning fireplace are smaller than 2.5 microns8.

And most viruses are only around 0.1 microns in size. The novel coronavirus itself is as small as 0.6 to 0.14 microns9.

That’s nearly two-thirds smaller than the HEPA testing standard!

Not all HEPA filters are created equal… Ours removes 100x smaller than the HEPA standard.
